DYGL (pronounced “Dayglow”) are a 5 piece indie rock band hailing from Japan
Lead singer”Nobuki Akiyama” says that this the first time that the band have been to the UK in 7 years, they were supposed to be touring in 2020 but COVID hit and so their plans to bring their wild energy and meticulously wild sound would have to wait, it would seem longer than anyone had hoped for in the band but finally they are here and boy do the crowd show up.
Nobuki says that he had studied in London himself which is why he speaks excellent English but with a definate cheeky London twang in his accent, as the front man for the band he sings great and all of the band are so dialled in to their setlist by now that now a physical setlist cannot be seen anywhere on stage, they know their songs and they know how to bouce off of each other, you could tell from the very start they were going to light up the stage.
Such a fun brilient band to witness and this was one of the busiest shows ive seen at the venue, not that much space to move and so this band pretty much sold out the show bringing a brilliant reputation for live music it was not wonder, from fans skanking up front to several other fans taking photos and some dancing wildly with slight chatter everyone enjoyed this 1 hour plus set.
Domo Dayglow!
