Irish rock band Bleech 9 3 perform in Milton Keynes

Ascending Irish new noise punk quartet ‘Bleech 9:3’ announced their small club show on social media to perform at the Craufurd Arms, a proper rockers pub in a corner of Milton Keynes in the sleepy industrial first declared ‘home fo the railway’ town – Wolverton – tickets for this 250 cap venue sold out within hours and with previous shows much larger than this selling out demand for this event were insatiable.

Expectations didn’t falter on a hot day fans were queuing up a few hours early queuing up outside of the venue, setting the tone for what would be an fully charged, youth filled crowd who have taken this band to heart

The support band for the evening was one of Manchester’s up-an coming alternative bands “Martial Arts”, a 5 piece ensemble with their own style, exciting stage presence and a brilliant sound that accompanies the headliners wonderfully to get feet moving and pulses racing.

Bleech got to the stage a litte later than planned with a 9:10 start playing the songs from their debut EP and a few others besides, and when the band come on stage the crowd were clamouring to get the best view until frontman – “Barry Quinlan” (guitars and vox) – asked for the crowd to form a mosh pit with the parting of his hands and on the fateful fall of a drumstick in the hands of dummer “Luke O’Neill” launching in to the opening song the crowd were whipped in to a frenzy, to see so much energy on and off stage is a delight and being at the front of the pit was a crushingly good experience. With a serene intensity the band pulled no punches in bringing everything to the audience, with guitarist “Sam Duffy” bringing the riffs and power poses and Barry’s brother ‘James Quinlan” (bass guitar) duties packing a solid groove and tempo – they all sounded brilliant with a sound vibes akin to The Undertones and early Joy Division this band have a bright future.
